People ask me all the time how on earth I manage to get projects done and work from home as a busy mom of three little boys, especially when my youngest is a toddler. The truth is, it’s always a balancing act. I think that’s the case for all of us moms, whether you are a work at home mom, you work outside the home, or are a stay at home mom. (It’s all “work,” right?) It’s a challenge, but somehow it works for our family. I’m not ashamed to admit that I can’t do it all—I finally gave in and hired someone to clean our house every couple of weeks, for example. This allows me to prioritize my time and focus on my children and my work. The majority of my work gets done on weekends, during naptime, or after the kids go to bed. I’m thankful to have a VTech VM343 video baby monitor to help me keep an eye on Jonah while he sleeps and I get my work done, and it also allows me to capture sweet little moments that I might otherwise miss.
The VTech VM343 comes standard with 1,000 feet of range, so no matter where I am in the house—even if I’m working on a build project in the garage—I can see how he’s doing and be provided with peace of mind. Another thing I love about the VTech VM343 is that it comes with full-color, high-resolution video as well as night vision, and a large 4.3-inch LCD screen. This makes it easy to see him regardless of lighting conditions. It also has a remote pan and tilt camera with 2x zoom. It really does have all the bells and whistles I could ever want in a monitor. One extremely important feature is that its digital transmission cuts down on background noise and ensures that all videos are private and secure—I’ve heard stories from friends about other brands getting hacked, and I’m so relieved to know that isn’t an issue with this one. It can be mounted on the wall, but I placed ours on the dresser across the room from his bed.
I recently captured this sweet moment between two of my boys while I ran to get something in another part of the house. I love that I was able to witness this even though I wasn’t in the same room.
This monitor is such an awesome thing to have as a work at home mom. Besides, there’s nothing more precious than a sleeping baby, and I’m happy to be able to take a look at his cute little face anytime I want to without disturbing him or risking waking him up.
I can work on a project or edit photos and watch him while he naps at the same time. Ultimately I can get my work done knowing that Jonah is sleeping safe and sound, and if he cries I know instantly what’s going on just by looking at the screen.
Do you work from home? If so, what are your tips for getting things done and balancing it all? (Let’s face it, if you’re a mom, you automatically “work from home” really.) I love that the VTech VM343 allows us busy mamas to get stuff done while having peace of mind in knowing our little ones are safe and sound.
