How to Light a Charcoal Grill Fast

Spring is fast approaching, which means grilling season is coming soon! We live in the South, so we pretty much grill out all year long. We love our charcoal grill, but we don’t love waiting forever to light it and get it ready to grill. I’m so excited to have found out how to light a charcoal grill fast—as in 2-3 minutes! How to Light a Charcoal Grill in 2-3 Minutes

My favorite thing about the HomeRight ElectroLight is that it eliminates the need for lighter fluid or chemicals. It simply uses extreme heat (1300 degrees) to ignite the coals.

What You’ll Need:

Step 1

Plug in your ElectroLight and press the red button, and it blows 1300 degree air onto your coals. As a safety feature, you must continue to depress the button the entire time. Touch the tip of the ElectroLight onto the coals until you see embers forming.

Step 2

Then, pull the ElectroLight back away from the coals a bit and let it continue blowing air across them to fan the flames for a couple of minutes.

Step 3

Your grill is totally ready to go in 2-3 minutes flat. No lighter fluid necessary. Grill your food and enjoy! My husband was quite confused when I told him we wouldn’t need any lighter fluid. He kept asking me, “Are you sure?”. He’s completely in love with the ElectroLight! He gave it a try and couldn’t believe how quickly it worked. We use it all the time now.
