Hot Chocolate Bar Ideas

Loving these hot chocolate bar ideas! Perfect for a holiday party or for any home just for fun!

You all know I worked so hard transforming our 80’s butler’s pantry into a modern coffee bar, and even though the room is mostly for Chris since I don’t even drink coffee, you didn’t think I’d let him have all the fun, did you? I warned him weeks ago that when the holidays roll around, the coffee bar becomes a coffee/hot chocolate bar. Today I thought I would share a few hot chocolate bar ideas with you in case you’d like to set up something similar in your home.

HOT CHOCOLATE BAR IDEAS

I think it goes without saying that every hot chocolate bar needs to include some sweet treats. For ours, I included cranberry biscotti and peppermint Jo-Jos from Trader Joe’s. They’re basically like a peppermint Oreo and pretty much heaven on earth. I also included candy canes (a holiday staple, obviously), and white chocolate peppermint covered pretzel sticks.

Each mug comes with its own gourmet hand-dipped marshmallow pop, courtesy of Target’s holiday section. In fact, all of these treats either came from Target or Trader Joe’s, two of my “go to” sources for just about everything. I used our white mugs for this, but I am absolutely in love with these glass mugs that we have up on the shelves (not pictured).

I wish you could’ve seen my boys’ eyes when they saw this hot chocolate bar setup for the first time. I’ve never heard them squeal with such excitement before! Ha. I opted to display the cookies and biscotti on a beautiful cake stand I picked up at HomeGoods. The glass candy cane jar came from World Market.

Of course, marshmallows are a must. I served some in a small bowl with a gold spoon—part of Target’s Threshold flatware collection.

The brass and marble tray came from Target a year or two ago. I set up our Keurig and a large glass jar full of hot cocoa K-cups, along with packets of salted caramel hot chocolate (my fave). Last year, Target had salted caramel K-cups but I haven’t been able to find them this year.

You may recognize the cute little jar holding the pretzel sticks from this post. There, you’ll find a tutorial for how I embellished the jar.

If you’re hosting a party, you could also serve whipped cream and sprinkles for even more sugary goodness.
