As a blogger, it goes without saying that I spend a lot of time on the computer. Between editing photos, writing blog posts, keeping up with social media, and fielding emails all day long, a lot of my time is spent online. Aside from the time that I spend on my laptop, I also have school-age children who are learning more about computers and using them for homework, especially my oldest who is in second grade. I’m constantly hearing, “Mommy, can I use your computer?,” which led me to the conclusion that it was time for a family computer. (My husband and I each have “work” laptops.) The new Dell Inspiron 15 7000 Series Intel 2 in 1, is the perfect answer for our family.
The Intel 2 in 1 is awesome! It transforms from being a laptop to being a tablet, and it’s easy to switch back and forth between each mode. I can use the laptop for blogging and social media posts, and Aiden can use it for his schoolwork. Then, we can turn it into a tablet for “on the go” work and games, or if I want to lounge in my “mom cave” and work on the blog.
It’s awesome for watching movies when we travel too. The OS platform is familiar and easy to understand, but with a ton of new features. While I’ve grown used to using Apple products, I was looking forward to using Windows 10 on this computer. It comes complete with a Cortana Virtual Assistant (like Apple’s Siri), an Action Center, “Virtual Desktops” (without the need to add extra software), and the ability to stream games.
If you’re looking for a holiday gift idea, this would be a great one. In fact, we will be surprising our boys with it. There are so many amazing uses for this versatile device. I can already tell that our family is going to enjoy using it for so many things.
