Easy, Inexpensive DIY Confetti Poppers

Just in case you guys have more exciting plans than we do for New Year’s Eve, I thought I would share this fun little tutorial for DIY Confetti Poppers! These are super easy and inexpensive to make, and they would be perfect for a New Year’s party or even just for the kids to throw if they stay up to watch the ball drop at midnight.

Supplies you’ll need:

How to Make DIY Confetti Poppers

First, cut your bath tissue roll in half (or cut your paper towel roll in segments) — I made mine about 2 inches wide, but you could make them longer if you’d prefer.

Next, cut a segment of tissue paper that is wide enough to wrap around your piece of paper towel roll, and about 3 times the length. Center your roll and attach the edge of the tissue paper to it with tape.

Then, roll the tissue paper around the paper towel roll and then tape the other edge in place.

Secure one side with a piece of ribbon or twine, tying it tightly in a knot. Make sure to pull it very tight so there is no gap that confetti can spill out of.

Pour confetti into the open end of your popper, filling the tube as much or as little as you’d like. This just depends on how much vacuuming you want to do later. (Haha!)

Finally, tie the other end tightly with ribbon or twine, and run scissors down the ribbon to curl it or you can tie it in a bow. Just tear one of the ends open when you’re ready to throw the confetti!

These party blowers, “Cheers” coasters, and confetti balloons I found online would go perfect with these too!

What are your plans for New Year’s? I’ll probably be sound asleep by the time the clock strikes midnight. I’m pretty wild and crazy these days. Ha!
